Abstract

Cinema is one of the most influential forms of mass communication and entertainment in modern society. Beyond its artistic and commercial value, cinema plays a significant role in shaping public opinion, spreading awareness, and encouraging social transformation. Films often reflect the realities of society by addressing issues such as poverty, gender inequality, caste discrimination, corruption, environmental concerns, education, mental health, and human rights. Through powerful storytelling, visual representation, and emotional engagement, cinema has the ability to influence attitudes, inspire discussions, and motivate collective action among audiences. cinema as an effective medium of social change and awareness. It explores how filmmakers use cinema to highlight social problems and promote reformative ideas. The contribution of socially relevant films in creating awareness among people and influencing cultural and behavioral changes. Special emphasis is given to Indian cinema, particularly Bollywood and regional films, which have frequently addressed important social themes and contemporary challenges. The relationship between cinema and society, the impact of realistic storytelling on viewers, and the role of digital platforms in expanding the reach of socially conscious films. The research concludes that cinema is not merely a source of entertainment but also a powerful educational and transformative tool that contributes significantly to social awareness and progressive change in society.
