Abstract

Contemporary legal systems have devoted themselves to guaranteeing constitutional and criminal protection for the right to individuals’ private life, as it is one of the highest rights inherent in human personality and in their freedom from interference in their privacy. As a result, criminal legislation in its legal provisions has criminalized any violation of the sanctity of private life, including defamation of it, whether such violation or infringement is committed by traditional means or by modern means through social media, digital platforms, and the Internet. In this section, we will provide an explanation and analysis of what is meant by defamation through infringement of individuals’ private life, and cover the criminal framework of the acts constituting this crime.
