Abstract

The digital era has transformed the global film industry by creating new opportunities for independent filmmakers and changing traditional methods of film production, distribution, and audience engagement. Independent filmmaking, which once faced challenges such as limited budgets, lack of technological resources, and restricted access to distribution channels, has experienced remarkable growth due to advancements in digital technology. Affordable digital cameras, editing software, online streaming platforms, and social media have enabled filmmakers to create and share content more easily and economically than ever before. the growth of independent filmmaking in the digital era and analyzes how digital innovations have democratized cinema production. The study explores the role of digital tools, crowdfunding, OTT platforms, film festivals, and social media marketing in supporting independent cinema. It also discusses how independent filmmakers are using creative freedom to address unique themes, social issues, cultural identities, and experimental storytelling styles that are often overlooked by mainstream commercial cinema.
